Setting coverage year dates
Shortcut/mask: HREMCY
Use the Set Coverage Year Date (HREMCY) tool to adjust the coverage year to begin on the first day in which hours are entered and assigned to an event within the coverage year. This tool is used with year tracking type 3, as specified in associated code 1 of the HRFM/FMLAGEN common code. Coverage years are created based on initial request date (typically, the expected first day of leave). When hours are entered for an event, the coverage year begins on the first day on which leave hours are actually taken.
If multiple events are created in the same coverage year, the coverage year date is set to the earliest day with assigned hours for any of the events. If an earlier coverage year overlaps with a later coverage year, the earlier year is shifted to avoid overlap with later year. When no method can be determined to avoid overlapping coverage years, the tool fails.
Note: Prior to assigning coverage years, HREMCY will modify event numbers as necessary to ensure they are unique per employee. If two events had the same event number in the same year, the system assigns hours to the first event found and notes the ambiguity in the detail report.
