Adding an Applicant Online application definition

Shortcut/mask: HRAOAD

Use the Application Definition (HRAOAD) window to create an application using the questions defined on the Question Definition (HRAOQD) window. Generally, you begin application creation process by defining questions on HRAOQD. Next, you use this window to define applications and add questions. The final step is to attach the application you created to the requisition using Applicant Requisition Definition (HRAPRD) window.

Complete the following steps to add an application definition:

  1. Open the window by typing HRAOAD in the Search field and pressing Enter.
  2. Select Add (+).
  3. Complete the following fields in the Application Definition panel:

    • Application ID: Type the ID to identify this question.
    • Version: This field displays the system-derived number of revisions made to this question. It defaults to 1 for new questions.
    • Status: This field defaults to "NEW" upon creation. The status changes to "ACTIVE" when the application is attached to a requisition on HRAPRD and displays on the portal.
    • Description: Type a short description of this application (up to 30 characters).
  4. Complete the following fields in the Section Details panel:

    • Second ID: Type an ID to identify this section.
    • Title: Type the title of this section as it will display in the application.
    • Sequence: Type the sequence number for this section. This defines the ordering of the sections within the application.
    • Introduction Section: Select this check box if this is the first section in this application. This toggles the Questions tab into a Contents tab so the section displays a block of text instead of a question.
  5. Complete the following fields in the Status Information panel:

    • Status: All sections default to "ACTIVE" upon creation.
    • Comments: Type a description of this section for internal reference.
  6. Complete the Header Text field in the Header tab. This information displays directly above the question in the application.
  7. Complete the Footer Text field in the Header tab. This information displays directly below the question in the application.
  8. Select the Questions tab and complete the following fields:

    • Order: Type the order number of this question. This defines the ordering of the questions within the section when displayed in the application.
    • Look Up Question: Select the lookup to select the desired question. The rest of the fields will automatically populate with the question information from HRAOQD.
    • ID: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
    • Version: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
    • Type: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
    • Internal Description: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
    • Category: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
    • Status: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
    • Question: System-derived from HRAOQD based upon the selected Look Up Question.
  9. Select Save Changes.

    Result: You have defined an application in the Applicant Online system.
